PLANTATION Neem tree, also known as Azadirachta indica, is a versatile and highly valued tree native to India and other parts of Southeast Asia. The neem tree has a wide range of uses, from medicinal to agricultural, and is highly regarded for its environmental and socio-economic benefits. Planting a neem tree is relatively easy, and it can be done in a variety of ways, such as through seeds, cuttings, or saplings.  The benefits of planting a neem tree are numerous. The tree has long been recognized for its medicinal properties and is used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to treat a variety of ailments, including skin disorders, fever, and digestive problems. Neem oil, extracted from the seeds, is a natural pesticide and insecticide that is effective against a wide range of pests, including mosquitoes, termites, and aphids. Neem trees are also beneficial for the environment.

WATER REJUVENATION IN UNKAL LAKE, HUBBALLI. Unkal Lake, one of the  Important  tourist places to visit in Hubballi City  is in bad news again. Hyacinth, the unnecessary weed has started to show its appearance back at Unkal Lake from the last 2 or 3 weeks.  Recently,  Hubballi Dharwad Smart City Limited (HDSCL)  had undertaken the task of cleaning and rejuvenating the Lake. HDSCL had managed to clean the lake completely removing the hyacinth covered on the lake.                                      EXAMPLE FOR ARTIFICIAL FLOATING ICELANDS HDSCL had installed aerators in the lake to increase the amount of Dissolved Oxygen in the water body. HDSCL officers had said that the aerators will prevent the stagnation of water which would hamper the growth of unnecessary weeds. They had also claimed that the drainage water has been completely stopped from entering the lake. the condition of the lake at present is quite different than what it was 2 months back. ORGANIC FARMING

                               Organic Farming  Recently, We had the wonderful opportunity to visit the farm of a farmer  in Rayanal Hubballi. What made this visit particularly exciting was the fact that practices organic farming and vermiculture. As someone who is passionate about sustainable agriculture, we was eager to learn about this practices and see how they were being implemented.                        One of the main practices is vermiculture. Vermiculture is the process of using worms to break down organic matter into nutrient-rich fertilizer. They had dedicated area on their farm where they raises worms and uses their castings as fertilizer. Not only is this method more sustainable than traditional fertilizers, but it also produces higher-quality crops. Then they explained how they prepares organic manure using cow and sheep dung.
